  2. Haha! Right on. I think it's cool that you're doing these. Alot of fun ideas. Hard to talk about all of them because there's alot, so I'll just give my overal opinion.

Generally, I like the way you're pushing your colors, as usual, they really stand out and are super punchy, but I think you should start paying attention to the different aspects of color. Color's really tough to learn and it's hard to teach. I stink at color myself, so it's definitely one of my weaknesses too. But I think it's worth it for you to start paying attnention to certain aspects such as Hue, Saturation, Value and Temperature. It would take me a entire book to explain all that, so I'll just let you look those up on your own. There's just soo much to talk about when you're dealing with color. For your characters, I like the design. I like that you just bust out thsee character designs left and right (I spend too much time thinking about the design instead of actually designing it). I think your second character (the red guy) is looking pretty good. And Im liking the design. He looks cool! Your first guy though (the topless guy), is lacking in gesture, proportion, and anatomy. Specifically, his legs are too long. The distance from the feet to the pelvis should be about the same length from the pevlis to the top of the head. Right now, your leg lenght is almost twice as long as the upper torso. I can see you're indiciating the muscles in the upper torso, which is good, but right now it sort looks flat. It almost seems the upper torso is a rectnagular plane, if you think of it more as a 3-dimensional rectangular box, that might help you figure out how to treat the shading.

For your environments, I think they work as mood pieces. But it's hard to distinguish any of the details, because they're small and are not as definitive. I know our instructors tend to speak against it, but I would suggst trying to sketch out the designs, rather than just trying to paint it out. I personally like sketching before I paint. I find I spend more time tryin to figure out the design with just paint alone, than if I were to quickly sketch it out in the beginning, and with the same way I would with markers, indiciate value and color with digital paint. That's my suggestions.
