Lol! I'm speechless...seriously. I'm liking the colors. It really makes the painting stand out. I think your subject is actually funny, but I think your figure looks too stiff. and to be honest, the orientation of the horsey to the spaceman is a bit...uhmm. how do i say...phalic? Anyways, I think the overal painting is good, I think you just need to spend more time on desingning the space-man.
You're a phalic... but in all honesty, you caught me. I spent like 25 minutes on the bg realizing there was nothing funny about this thing. So I spent the last 5 minutes rushing some meaning into this. Not good... At least it wasn't a refrigerator with a rack.
My suggestion is to spend as much time on the spacecowboy, as you did on the background. Your subject is good, I dig the space cowboy concept, and the background looks freakin' awesome! It's just that your figure suck >:D Everyone knows you're bomb at robots, but lets face it man, you're sorry at drawing figures. You can either make it a robot space-cowboy, or take "Character Design" with me next term at Gnomon, and redo your painting....wadda ya say?
