  1. ohhh shit this is pretty sick. You guys have all this new work!

I think the blurring could use a bit of work tho, like really think about whether you use blur for depth or motion blur. If its blur for motion then close stuff should be more blurry, but for focus blur the far planes should be more blurred. I'm not criticizing or anything.. its still fucking great!

Oh i just remembered something about the blur, you could look into something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXbnygzmY6A

  2. thanks. Yea this was my first 3ds max work. It is a bit sloppy when you look past the flashy blue exhaust. haha. I feel like I could've done better with composition and scale. The background ship is supposed to be huge, and I don't quite achieve that result. Also, i need work on textures. I was lazy and didn't uv map it correctly.

  3. sneaky...when did you post this!? yeah, i'm liking it. i think it's a good start. the ships all have cool shapes, i'm liking the overall silhouettes. Your color is starting to work, (cold blue on right vs warm orange/brown on left). i agree with you that the composition could use some work. I'd like the the camera-view to shift to be more behind that main aircraft, almost as if you're following it. that would make for a more dynamic angle, and gives you the opportunity to get a better view of all the cool details on that aircraft. Another suggestion is the way you have the orange/brown clouds on the left side. one thing i've learned is that compositionally, you don't want anything too vertical on your composition. Right now, the clouds are almost just going up and down the left side of the page. I would try to make the clouds sit more diagonally on the compostion, that would make for a less stiff composition i think....cheeky bastard, i gotta post soon!
