30 minute speed paintings

Trying stuff out, experimenting with brushes.  I'm not happy with the way my value set ups are starting to look identical to each other.  Next batch I'm going to try to break it up.  And the panda was supposed to be chillin, but he just looks dead.  haha so fail.

  1. I think the first is my favorite one. It has really cool atmospheric depth. It really feels high-up, and that dude really pulls me into the composotion, like I'm literally jumping into it. Nice work man!

Lol! I think your panda is chill, it just needs some life put into him. haha. For the second one, I think it would be cooler if the composition was seen from a different point of view. Perhaps from behind the panda overlooking his shoulder. Maybe the panda can be the foreground element, and can also direct our attention to the a focal point, simply by looking at it. Also, i think right now the overall composition is a bit mid-tone ish. I think you could push some darks and pull some lights in the composition, kinda like how you're doing with the third one.

The third is cool too. I like composition. the direction leads us to the focal point. Your contrast is good. I would be careful about how much space the dude in the foreground and the dude in the background take up. Right now, they almost take up the same amount of space. Other than that, I think it's cool.

Yo, so are you going to tackle that Magic Card Assignment? I'm working on it right now, I'm soo lagging!

  2. Thanks,

Good stuff. I don't know if I'll do the magic card thing. I have no idea what it's about. Maybe I will. Anyways screw that panda. What's he doing in the middle of a canyon anyways. He's gonna die cuz he isn't near a bamboo forest. I don't know what I was thinking. haha
