Last Assignment + Speed Painting

I didn't forget about your last comment Jeff.  haha.  This was already in the works so I didn't want to scrap it.  The second painting is a 20 min speedpainting about knights.  Let the experimenting begin!!!

  1. Nice man! I like both of them. Of all your flying vehicle paintings, the top one is by far my favorite. I like the angle, the city layout looks cool, teh colors are sweet. I personally like the smoke trail, it really draws me in and it divids the space on the page well.

I like your speed painting as well. I'm glad to see you're doing something other than vehicles. Overall, for a speed painting, I think it looks good. I think the background coudl use some more elements, like a more mountains or castles just to fill up the space. Otherwise, I like the atmosphere, the mood, the characters are "meh", but for a 20 min. painting, it's pretty nice!

    Keep it up!

  2. I think they're both great. I've been noticing a pattern in your 'reads'. If you were to make all your paintings black and white, and blur them, there's always a hotspot, and darker areas of the painting just gradate out from that, and you usually use the sky to do that. It works of course, but maybe you can vary that up a bit? For example, try not putting the sun on your painting? maybe try multiple light sources? I don't know if those are real solutions for what I'm trying to say.

  3. Oh also don't use just one color, and if you have two or more then unify them somehow. I think Steve mentioned that already
